Aspers Declares Good Year Despite Olympics Security Fears
Sunday 13th April, 2014
Owner of the Stratford City Casino in East London, Aspers Group has said that it has had an 'outstanding' year despite fears that the heightened security around the Olympics nearby would cut into profits.
Their total revenue for the year to June 20, 2013 rose 43 percent from 47.5 million pounds to 67.8 million pounds. This came after they averaged 6,717 customers a day spending an average of 27.74 on each visit.
However the company declared a loss of 5.4 million pounds before taxes, another disappointing year after a loss of 4.6 million pounds last year. This was partly due to the 3.6 million pounds in costs associated with the shuttering of their Swansea casino and a 'disappointing' year at their Newcastle casino which has seen a large renovation this year.
